"The male character is the distaff counterpart"? Really? Where are you getting this from? Everywhere I see in the Japanese site, it defaults to the male character. In the Summon Night games I've played (which includes 2 and Craftsword 1-3), the male character is the default when starting a new game, and in the opening credits, and even on a couple of covers. I don't think advertisements for the game can count when the game and official site show otherwise.
