This page desperately needs a Shoutout section or maybe even a page. Practically everything with text on it is a reference to something in the zombie genre. I'd like to see someone make it. Here's a few to get it started.
Two of the potential home sites are the Savini Residence and the Kirkman Residence, referring to the makeup artist of George Romero's Dead trilogy and the writer of the Walking Dead comic, respectively.
A local company is Foree Electronics, named for the man in 1978's Dawn of the Dead who states its arguably most famous line "When there is no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth". Some graffiti in an overrun safehouse reads "Where do the dead go when Hell is full?"
A small sign near the player's first home base advertises a business run by "Simon and Nick", as in Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the lead actors in Shaun of the Dead.
One achievement, "Rule #1", is earned for maxing out one survivor's Cardio skill. Another, "Gotta Enjoy the Little Things", is earned for killing a zombie with your car door. These are references to Columbus's rules of survival in Zombieland. Rule 1 is Cardio, Rule 32 is "enjoy the little things".
