Whip It Good: The last sentence refers to V as "her" instead of "them" (like it does on the rest of the page)
One-Letter Name: Male V's name is Vincent, not Victor.
I would fix it myself and even made an account just for it, but since it's locked.. well, I can't.
So how long will all the articles be under lockdown?
Hide / Show RepliesWas it really getting hit that hard by negative edits? I would have expected T Lo U 2 to get hit harder, but that's still open to editing it seems.
Yeah, I'm personally wondering this too. I've been playing for almost 200 hours now and I wanted to add in all the cool new tidbits I found soon (before I forget). It's such a shame, I always add edits to my favored media's TV Tropes, I'm a little sad that I can't do the same for Cyberpunk. Though, WMG still seems to be editable as I added a few theories there.
Edited by AzuraJae I've been...having these weird thoughts lately...like, is any of this for real? Or not?It friggin' confuses me all the time to see V as being referred to as "they". Just really. V is one person, not many! I suggest changing the pronouns of V from "they" to "he/she" (as a whole word). It will be much more correct and understandable, don't you agree?
Hide / Show RepliesOh, just forgot about a feature setting a male crotch to a female body... Then again, it is my opinion.
"They" is less cumbersome than "he/she" in every single instance the protagonist comes up.
Do you all agree that the game itself needs its own separate Shout Out page?
I can see some of the achievements and missions are shout outs to pop-culture.
Edited by Agent_B Hide / Show RepliesA Shout Out Page would be very appropriate, IMHO.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Large chunks of the page should be rewritten to match the actual released game instead of referring to gameplay videos from a few years ago.
The recent edit needs to be undone because all of the current tropes can be seen in the released game footage so far.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. Hide / Show RepliesI know, right? God forbid we show off things that are definitely there. I think they might be getting a tad overzealous with
I have to ask, why is the page locked for edits? is there any particular reason?
It seems like a handful of overly anal-retentive editors are locking the page down for no real reason other than to feel a mite of power.
My understanding is that people kept posting tropes as if they were in the game, going off nothing more than an early trailer, but no one knows anything yet for sure (maybe you could use Night City Wire for justification, though).
^^^ mack is being salty, AntiTed has it right. The site has very specific guidelines for pages about works that haven't actually been released yet.
As it happens Cyberpunk 2077 has a large number of fans on this wiki who either don't know about or don't care about those guidelines and not only added constant, rampant speculation based on trailers, unconfirmed leaks, and old lore from the tabletop game (which may not even be entirely canon to the game, judging from what we've seen so far), but frequently edit-warred with people trying to enforce the site's rules about speculation and pre-release troping.
So, it was locked. You can submit any changes you want to the locked pages forum thread, where moderators review desired changes to locked pages and (usually, if they're compliant with editing policy) add them to the page when they get the chance.
The Characters page, for what it's worth, was not locked, and is currently an absolute mess facing the exact same issues and more, and it may wind up locked too if things don't improve soon. We have an ATT thread discussing this and I'm putting in a call for help on the game's forum thread if you want to help sort it out.
I'm iffy about the following example:
While Night City isn't exactly crawling with homeless tents or people sleeping on the streets, we do see examples of favelas and NP Cs with general listlessness. However, the overall issue could simply be a consequence of the in-game city being sparsely populated in general.
In addition, people in poverty typically can afford things like living in trailers, trivial entertainment and food. Poverty (especially in first-world countries) doesn't equal "penniless" or "starving". It's also important to keep in mind that a large portion of people in Night City earn decent livings performing illegal acts and street crime, much like impoverished groups IRL.
