The bit about Mulan surprises me a little. It says that the only other "nontraditionally female" character was the Matchmaker. But the Matchmaker really was acting in a traditionally female manner, while it seems like Mulan's grandmother was not - she said things that rather startled or appalled Mulan's very traditional mother and encouraged Mulan to climb up on the roof to listen in on the men's conversation.
