Am I alone on feeling that Stan from South Park sometimes comes off as this in more recent episodes? If not him, then Mr. Mackey in "Royal Pudding" definitely counts. Please?

I don't think "Breath of Fresh Squidward" is the best example for SpongeBob coming off as Unintentionally Unsympathetic, because he clearly was intended to be depicted as in the wrong for his jealousy toward Squidward. Even when he tries to apologize, he still gets his Laser-Guided Karma by being electrocuted by the fence Squidward put up.

How can D.W. from Arthur be listed here when she's also listed under Hate Sink? Aren't this trope and Hate Sink practically opposites of each other? (character whom the creator designed to be sympathetic becomes hated by the audience instead vs. character whom the creator deliberately wrote to be unsympathetic).

On a semi-hiatus from this site due to being busy with other things (may contribute here and there, but nothing major).
