This work has a Characters page, but there are story tropes on the Characters page, and character tropes on the main page. I'll try to clean that up soon.

I just deleted the following trope because it does not apply to the show.

  • Handy Helper: Likely the Trope Maker. The Real Life Anne Sullivan was herself visually impaired enough to go to schools for the blind, and was completely blind in later life.

Looking at the history, the entry was originally named The Handicapped and the Helper although I'm not sure that applies to the show either. If anything, Annie refused to do things for Helen, and forced Helen to do them herself.

Feel free to clarify/rewrite and add the entry back, if you can figure out a trope that actually applies.

Also, the description of Anne Sullivan's visual impairment doesn't relate to the definition of the Handy Helper trope.
