Not sure where this goes (probably Shout-Out, maybe Megaphone Hanging) but during the episode with the newspaper strike, Johny is reading the Sunday comics over the air. The thing is, he's reading a Flash Gordon comic from the 1930s. More interesting, it's one that was adapted for the radio serial ( A Queen Freya story). This must have been one of the better episodes, because it was re-issued as an LP record (I heard it in the early 1980s, borrowed from the local library), the record almost certainly pre-dated the show (I didn't see the WKRP episode until years later). Someone on the writing team must have been a fan of radio serials.
