Laser-Guided Karma: Rumpelstiltskin was so fixated on Regina and the Dark Curse as the way to get back to his son that he dismissively rejected Zelena as his student. Immediately afterward, when he reveals he seeks a way to reach "a land without magic", Zelena in turn reveals she actually could have taken him there with the silver slippers. He quickly tries to backpedal but she rejects him in turn with delicious mockery.
I'm not sure about this one. Rumplestilskin was fixated on the idea on Regina and the curse because it was foretold. Likewise, he rejected Zelena as the one to cast his curse because the price was the heart of the thing the caster loves most. In this case, the thing loved most was Rumplstilskin. There's no point in him having the cast cursed if he winds up dead because of it. He even uses this logic himself.
