Removing the whole of this, since the addition makes it discussion on the main page and violate Repair, Don't Respond.
- Out-of-Character Moment: Rainbow Dash, despite being the most competitive of the Mane Six, turns down Garble's taunts and challenge to a flying race. Not only that, it is a flying race! Even if she thought Garble would not keep his word, you'd think Rainbow wouldn't have turned down a chance to show him up.
- Alternatively, Character Development. Dash has become wise enough to see where winning a race wouldn't actually achieve anything. Trying to actually beat Garble would've also meant having to fly closer to the other dragons; putting the shield, herself and Spike in unnecessary danger. Indeed, Garble may have been counting on that when proposing the race back.
Is there some trope to describe how Garble claimed to be faster than RAINBOW DASH? Not only that, but AFTER losing a race to Spike who (as is mentioned somewhere on here already) only had to fall down to win. If Rainbow had accepted Garble's challenge, we all know who would have won by a landslide.
