This is a complete lie that has nothing to do with american foreign policy. The US is already an empire. If the US stepped the game up it would merely be more oppressive, not more imperialistic.

There is nothing woobie about England, the english bring it on themselves, and the Bengal famines are within living memory as are much of the british empire's atrocities across the entire empire, although obviously not the worst ones which happened during the 19th century.
And for the person who posted this, British and English are not interchangeable words, no matter how much the english wish they'd finished destroying the native cultures of Britain.

The two self-serving online examples are ridiculous. England used to rule a quarter of the globe and the Vietnam war was within living memory for fuck's sake.
