So, I'm considering what to add to this page to reflect the release of the new album. First and most obviously the average song length needs to be recalculated for the "Epic Rocking" section. It probably decreased somewhat.

Second... I've had my suspicions about this for a while, but is Affinity a concept album? It almost seems like it's supposed to tell a story, about increasing technology, the end of the world (either beyond humanity's power to prevent, or actively caused by humanity), and in a few places towards the end it starts getting vaguely transhumanistic, suggesting humanity survives by uploading themselves to a computer network. (To those who doubt that last point... Read some of the lyrics to "Earthrise", "Red Giant", and especially "Bound by Gravity". "A swarm of minds/Reborn as one"?) But at the same time I've found no objective proof of any of this, or if it's supposed to be a concept album at all. The use of a couple reprises of previous songs ("The Architect" ends on a reprise of the chorus to "Initiate" and "The Endless Knot" contains a bridge with an obvious Dark Reprise of the chorus to "1985"), title drops to later songs in earlier ones ("1985" includes the phrase "Bound by Gravity", and "The Architect" includes the phrase "Endless Knot"), and the general themes present suggest it to be a concept album, but there's no proof. It could all be just my own strange interpretation So, to anybody else who's listened to the album... What do you all think?
