I'd be down with that, provided that the examples are legit and cited properly. If not it'd just balloon into a big mess.

Well then there PROBABLY should be clear examples of ripping off. Examples like "a pirate NES port of Street Fighter II" may not actually work, I assume.
Hot Shots, though, can be Plagiarism played clearly for laughs, since it's a parody of the popular action movies at that time. May or may not fit this trope as well, though.

The only examples of it I've yet seen listed anywhere on TV Tropes are Evony and that Bleach ripoff. I'd like to see more; it's an interesting topic, but I have yet to find any other examples.

What if we were to allow examples that appear in works. In other words, no real life examples.

Use of the word "cribbed" comes from the fact that plagiarism literally means baby stealing.
I've removed the above text, which appeared under note markup after the first occurrence of "cribbed." I find it doubtful for two reasons:
(Not relevant to the above, but I was surprised to learn that "crib sheet" dates from the twentieth century. I had originally thought that "to crib" came from "crib sheet," and that "crib sheet" was named for its appearance — a large piece of paper suggesting a sheet that might be used in a crib. Another folk etymology bites the dust!)
