How do scenarios where the heroes lacking a vehicle but having enough firepower that the fight isn't at all one-sided mesh with this trope? Tank versus platoon of infantry with a guided anti-armour missile launcher, lightly-armoured transport helicopter versus 4x4 with a pintle-mounted .50 calibre machine gun, that kind of thing.
