I don't believe that some of the sections on poison as a status effect are quite accurate: Firstly, in some games poison acts in exactly the same way no matter the source as is outlined, but can have differing intensity (stacks). The more intense, the more damage it does, but nothing else changes (besides occasionally the duration). Also, damage is not always the only effect. It's pretty common in many RP Gs for poison to also do something like slow down the character's movement speed or cause them to deal less damage.
I would try to fix that myself, but it would require some pretty major rewriting and I'm not experienced enough for something of that caliber tbh :p
