And sometimes in real life, it is the zebra. Back in the 1990s, Reader's Digest. 'Four Corners' or 'No name' disease (Usually rendered in a resident American Indian tongue so you don't know they didn't know what to name it.) They were not expecting it, because it's usually rare. Blame the weather that year. And the displaced rodents.
