My original intent was if it clearly falls under fantasy, scifi, or horror then put it in one of those genres. If it falls into more than one of those genres or if it's its own genre put it under tasty recipes and if it's a combination of speculative fiction and some genre outside of speculative fiction put it under overlap with other genres.
Do you think we should add the category supernatural fiction to the list? Supernatural fiction differs from fantasy in that instead of using epic adventure to drive the reader through the story it is uses horror, mystery, and romance to drive the plot. Supernatural fiction seems to have evolved from the gothic horror, paranormal romance, and paranormal mystery genres. Supernatural fiction differs from mundane fantastic in that mundane fantastic focuses on normal, mundane activities where as supernatural fiction focuses on the supernatural phenomena occuring in the story.
Hide / Show RepliesAbsolutely. The basic premise of Speculative Fiction as I see it, is that it (1) goes beyond the limits of realistic or historically accurate fiction, and (2) asks "what if?".
The only thing is, we don't have a trope called "Supernatural Fiction". Maybe you could find an equivalent trope or make one?
I added it but that was my first time making a trope page. Someone else might want to go through it to make sure the page gives a clear definition.

Should 'After the End' be on here as a setting? And where should it go?
