Fred Rogers once told of how he made his security blanket into what would become the sweater so associated with him now, so he could have it always. However, since he did not make a big deal of it on his show, I'm not sure if it should go in the section on Live Action Television, since there was nothing indicating the character Mr. Rogers had a security blanket.

trope namer (...) Linus of the Peanuts comics also subverted the central trope's meaning, with his martial-artist style proficiency in whipping his blanket - cracking it aggressively, or snagging things out of reach, like the "Zorro" prehensile- whip maneuvers —> thus a Security in defense and offense, and skillful-means, as well as the usual constant comforter - and it's association of a lingering regressively infantile touchstone —> which Linus proved a poor taunt for a bully to use - by demonstrating his prowess (which event we don't see directly - he simply illustrates it, in relating to Charley Brown why he isn't much bullied on that point) . . . inversion / eversion / literalised pun played straight, for laughs ? what would this be called as a troping form? . . . ahhh, I see this made mention under Peanuts / Charlie Brown - as "hidden badass" and "improbable weapon user" . . .

Would an example of a Security Blanket be, for instance, an item that a character uses almost to simply function, and someone taking it from them is their one known Berserk Button?
