I really want to use the "the darkness stares back" line because it is both really, really common, and an effect of scrying on evil things that you really shouldn't. But it does not seem that different as to merit a separate trope. Opinions?
Didn't this trope used to have Troper Tales?
... how could a trope about being caught psychically/magically eavesdropping have a Troper Tales section? Or did TV Tropes turn psychic all of a sudden?
It was tales of tabletop games, etc.
This would apply to being invisible to people who do not have a certain "effect" applied to them. In Ghost, it was to live people who were not dead (the effect). So it was really scary when the subway ghost looked right at the camera and stood up, screaming.
Something similar also happened in an episode of Star Trek: TNG

How well does it match the trope?
