I think the title of this should be swapped with the redirect (Of Corsets Painful) as soon as there's space in the Trope Repair Shop, as that makes sense both literally and punnily.

132 is the rudest number.

I would call it a new trope, especially since corsetry is inseparable from the whole sexy-hurts tension which foot-binding, to Western audiences, just doesn't have.

The anime is sorely lacking here, surely there are more. I'm going to go rewatch Rozen Maiden (though I guess dolls don't need to breathe either) and things like Akane no Anne and Daddy Long Legs. I've yet to see Les Miserables so perhaps a corset is in that.
