I'm not sure about the Blade entries on this; watching the scene in the first movie again, I'm pretty sure Whistler is grinding something, not welding. The view is obscured, but it certainly sounds more like grinding than welding, and you can hear the motor wind down and start back up when he stops and starts.

It seems like a lot of these examples seem to fall under People Sit on Chairs. The description seems to imply this trope will be about welding when it doesn't make sense to, but then it includes a bunch of examples that at best aren't clear examples and at worst are unrelated.
