In the Tom and Jerry Tales episode "Din-O-Sores", the Triceratops licks him affectionately, and then Tom teaches it tricks.
Edited by mjhenry83Hello, sometime in July I'll add a new trope called "Housepet Pig." I hope everyone is OK with it.
BrutalI would like to replace the current image with this image of a dinosaur named Blue from the webcomic Dawn Of Time:
What say you all? Is this a good idea? Is the current image preferable? Any ideas for better caption text?
Edited by girlyboy Hide / Show RepliesNot exactly an enthusiastic reaction, but no objections either... :P
Edited by girlyboyActually, both my cats seem to think this. The older one, Danny, has been known to get up on his hind paws in anticipation for food. The younger one, Tommy, is the more egregious offender by far. He snuggles up with the dog (Mack) and never got the memo on Animal Jingoism! He also licks faces, has pica, and normally possesses the attention span of a- SQUIRREL!

If "all animals are dogs" is a trope, then "cats are very unlike dogs" must be its anti-trope.
- ) Your mileage may vary. The most dog-like breeds tend to be the oriental shorthairs, but dogginess can be found in specimens from all breeds.
May we add Cuzko in Emperor's New Groove, as he drops his ears when afraid in lhama form?
Hide / Show RepliesIs that a behavior associated only with dogs? I'm pretty sure rabbits do that too.
Is (film) The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe an aversion or an inversion? Depending on your point of view, wolves either are dogs, or are descended from the same stock as dogs within very recent geologic history, so they ought to have the same body language as dogs or something very close. Furthermore, in the example, the wolves in question were actually displaying doglike body language for doglike reasons, a fact that was concealed from the audience for dramatic effect.
This trope only apply to clearly non-canine animals acting like dogs. Like Maximus from Tangled. Dragons are often subjected to this.
