But how different is this synopsis from what the French really did do? Mainland France jacked it in and took the red and blue bits off the flag as surplus to requirements. The focus of resistance shifted overseas led by deGaulle and a sizeable French army was reformed to fight under British leadership in North Africa. . Isn't this just the real-life scenario with minor changes of cast?
