Unless they changed it, the image uploader doesn't let you upload images wider than 350px and/or a certain filesize, and for this page that's too small. (If they have indeed changed it, then probably people just don't know about it - also most of this page has been around for years.)
The uploader nowadays does allow large uploads, but they don't display at full width.

For what possible reason does the "why do you hate TV Tropes" part have a Pot Hole to He Who Fights Monsters? Isn't that part about how the ads are needed to support the site? I know it's a Just For Fun page... but can someone please explain the joke?

What about Ads of Win outside of the site? Such as, you're having a conversation with a friend and a ridiculously relevent ad comes on at the perfect time? Or watching a show and an ad during the commercial break is hilariously relevent in regards to what's happening on the show?
