Not confident about how to add this, but...

In https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/ConfederationOfValor and subsequent books, aka the Confederation and Peacekeeper series by Tanya Huff, the Krai, who are extreme omnivores https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ExtremeOmnivore/Literature , routinely eat their own dead. In fact, while the routine practice for dead non-Krai soldiers is to bring back their flash-cremated remains, Krai "bring back" their dead by eating pieces of them. This is something of a subversion of the trope, because although there are Rules about not eating non-Krai fellow soldiers, them joking about doing so, or eating their own dead, is not treated as monstrous or evil. Though this may be partly because they are Marines...

If someone could add this, I'd appreciate it.
