If getting married was a valid alternative (to seeing her killer punished) for her to find peace, would she have also turned into butterflies or would they have continued to live in Dead Town? The butterflies were beautiful symbolism but I still don't think they totally make sense with the rules of the world.
I like the idea that when the dead finish their business, they move on from Dead Town. If everyone is just choosing to live there, that place would be full by the time Victor shows up, even if it was just a little hamlet in the middle of nowhere. Is there a limit to how long you can stay in Dead Town? They interact with insects and liquids and all kinds of things that could cause decomposition. Bones can decompose too.
Is there any Death Becomes Her component to being a citizen of Dead Town? They can't feel physical pain but for example, say Emily was stabbed in her arm... would there be a hole there? Do they have to be careful about not injuring themselves?
