I don't really know how to condense this into one line, but there's too much natter right now.
One of Gaige's lines when she goes down, roughly paraphrased, is "That's nothing, I've done worse to myself!" Now, considier her left arm. Her ROBOTIC left arm. A teenage girl maimed herself.
Although the recent ECHO logs on You Tube suggest she cut her arm accidentally. It didn't harm her happy-go-lucky nature at all - in fact, she thought it was brilliant, because it was an excuse to hack the rest of her arm off and replace it with a cybernetic one.
And that same cybernetic arm allows her to summon Deathtrap anywhere, anytime.
