What's always bothered me about the musical version, specifically the song: 'Grandma's Song'. Grandma sings about how she wishes she had never met her husband to Billy. But if that were true and that alternate reality had played out, then Billy would never be born. And she goes through the whole song talking about how much better her life would be on her own, without even mentioning that there was a silver lining to her life because of her grandson's love and company. At the end of the song, it even sounds like she was going to to say it, but then... Nope, just another drunk joke. I've always wondered if this was deliberate, as some sort of trope inverter or not.
