I know I don't have to do this for everything, but just logging the fact that I deleted the thing about the Nolan Chart because it didn't make a whole lot of sense. The Nolan Chart is for 21st Century America, not 23rd Century Vegas.

That doesn't mean it's automatically invalid, especially since the writers are from 21st century America.

You're correct, but that was the quickest way of putting it without fisking.

Select points:

  • Caesar's Legion conservative? Their entire ethos is creating a utopian totalitarian society completely unlike any others by breaking all previous social, cultural, and political bonds and constructs. That's literally the opposite of "conservative".

  • How on earth is the Legion less statist than Mr. House?

  • Etc, etc.

My point is, while the Fallout 'verse is about universal human issues, of which politics is one, the political situation in the Mojave is so very different from the one here that any direct comparisons to modern RL ideological systems are pretty shaky at best. Calling Caesar a "conservative" and Kimball a "liberal" is like calling Ramses a "Marxist" or Washington a "Goldwaterite".
