Under the British Prisoner's entry, it says he's implied to be Merlin. Does anyone know where that info comes from? Or can this be deleted and moved to WMG?
Hide / Show RepliesThe only implication is saying that he sounds British. I can't find the source right now (I think it was a Q&A on Youtube - possibly a year or two ago), but IIRC Jim said it's NOT Merlin, who would sound unintelligibly British given how long ago he lived.
Edited by AuraGuardianAdded several new groups (Monoc, Evil Eye, Streetwolves, Svartalves), and added members for some of the other groups (Alphas).
Why is the last entry labeled "The Parasite, aka Bonnie"? She doesn't have a name it in the books, and I can't find anything online that indicates that's her name. The only Bonnie in the series is the busty receptionist at Executive Priority Health.
Hide / Show RepliesI don't have the source on hand, but as I recall, at some convention, Word of God is that The Parasite is named Bonnie
There's a bit of murkiness on this point. Jim hasn't said anything about what the name is, but he and some of the beta readers have said something like, Bonnie isn't far off from a nickname of the name she has.
Should Sue be in the non-mortal section? She is a non-human zombie.
Wanted to have a little discussion about something someone flagged as natter. Copied below:
- This is gonna suck dosen't even cover it. Where explicitly told that the mantles of the Fae change their wielder, and where explicitly told Harry can resist this effect because he's got free will because he's mortal, and where explicitly told immortals like the Queen's of the Fae that Molly now is don't have free will. In other words unless something happens soon to remove the Mantle from her the mantles will subsume who she is and she will suffer a Death of Personality. Though Bob does claim this takes time, so she may have a chance. Maybe...
I admit it may not have been the best place to put it but right now there seems to be a lot of mis-information going around about what Molly can and cannot do about the Mantle, (and by extension Sarrisa about hers). Uriel tells us right at the end of of Ghost Story that only Free Will can resist a Mantle and that only Mortal's have Free Will. Immortal's do not. It's also made very plain that becoming one of the 6 Fae Queens makes you an Immortal. As such contrary to a number of implications being thrown around Molly does not have a choice as far as her Mantle is concerned, what it tells her to do she must do. This means that unless one of the following is True Molly (and by extension Sarrisa), are going to suffer a gradual Death of Personality unless:
1. Bob is wrong about it changing the Bearers personalities.
2. Molly can be made Mortal again whilst bearing the Mantle, thus giving her the option to resist it.
3. The Mantle can be removed from Molly.
That's kind fo an important point people seem to be missing with a fair number of comments in various Dresden File Pages either implying or outright stating that Molly will remain Molly despite the Mantle. Which doesn't track with the current info. Felt it needed to be clearly spelled out a bit more, her character page seemed a good place for it to go.
If you can think of a better place and way to put that feel free to point it out, i was/am rather tired ATM. So my brain isn't operating at 100%.
Edited by 70.33.253.42 Hide / Show RepliesI think the logic is sound, but I also believe wild Mass Guessing is the place for any theory not yet proven. It is also the wording that needs to be taken into account with some calling it natter.
If you look back around the 23rd of May of this year in the archive for Cold Days, you will find another "theory called Natter" instance.
Except it's not theory. Uriel is very specific and explicit in Ghost Story about Free Will and who has it. So unless something changes Molly and Sarrisa will suffer death of personality. That's a hard fact that should absolutely be in her character page and other places, just like a number of other comments related to her new position as Winter Lady.
The fact that it can change is technically speculation, but again it's a list of possibilities, (without any hows), but since it, (Death of Personality), hasn't happened yet i'd consider it imprudent not to include it.
Edited by 70.33.253.43Like how I reworked the Fae page, I moved characters around based on if they were an organization, mortal powerhouse, non-mortal, and whatever remains.
I was torn about Ivy's spot as the Archive is very much non-mortal but inside a mortal body. But as it is the power of Archive that puts her here, non-mortal section seems right.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CQF96VP2y4 at 1:33 Jim straight up says that the British prisoner is not the original Merlin.
