Could we please use a different picture for Angel, one where you don't have to highlight it to see the outline? White smeerp + white background + light gray outline = eyestrain.
Edited by ZarbiNeradaThe name "Philemena" came from a storyboard made by Sibsy. Sibsy once called Apple Bloom as "Applebloom" which is incorrect. This spelling was probably a spelling error on her part. Lauren Faust during her time as Executive Producer called her "Philomena" which is the proper spelling of the name.
Hide / Show RepliesWhere did she call her Philomena? I've tried to find that before but couldn't, so I had thought it was a case of God Never Said That.
I'm still looking for it too. I believe she said it in her deviantART account a long time ago so it's buried deep somewhere. Unfortunately DA doesn't have a search feature for comments. If only there's a way I could find it...
What concerns me is that there have been cases where the names were used incorrectly before by the crew themselves like the "Applebloom" (which should be "Apple Bloom") I mentioned earlier or even the now debunked "Big McIntosh" so the credibility of these sources seems a bit blurry now.
Everywhere I go everything and everyone on the Internet seems to be using the name "Philomena". I attempted to search for fanart on DA with "Philemena", 0 results. On Ponibooru, only the aforementioned storyboard came up. On Wikipedia, they use the "Philomena" name. The MLP:FiM wikia claims it's "Philomena" as well. Tried Equestria Daily, 2 results. Both of them are in the comments. One result seems to be a dispute of the name's credibility. Even the search engines are correcting me when I use "Philemena" to "Philomena". Philomena seems to be a name that originated from Greece which means "Powerful Love". There's even a significant historic named Philomena. "Philemena" seems to be a mutation of the name that originated from Australia...
Edited by ArfArkFaceHasbro has spoken! I'm guessing "Philomeena" is a misspelling, but unfortunately it's now the most official spelling we've got.
If a Lauren Faust quote using "Philomena" is ever found, it would probably need to be one specifically about how the name is spelled—otherwise, it might be a misspelling too (like "Big McIntosh").
EDIT: I can't view it myself, but "Philomeena" is also used here, so I guess that really is the official spelling!

As usual, there were (and probably still are) about a million tropes on this page that aren't actually examples of the trope as defined on its respective page. Please, if you see something you added or you think should be there was removed, go to the trope page and see if there's a reason there for why it wasn't really an example. Feel free to discuss it here too. But I hope people aren't just going to put them back. I've had to remove too many to give reasons here for all of them.
