Sweet analysis, but it's write too much from a "Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!" point of view. "Silly Rabbit Cynicism Is For Losers" exists.
Honestly, this analysis doesn't take in to account the main focus of Shirou's development in HF.
Basically, saying that he matures is bullshit. Why? Because the real problem with Shirou wasn't that he put everyone above someone in particular but that he put himself under ANYONE, he would sacrifice his life for anybody, enemies or allies alike (check, Illya's death in UBW).
Rin is enraged by this various times, so you can check by yourself this.
Then, in HF he does change this? Does he change AT ALL? No, he doesn't. He just put Sakura above the others while he is still even under the worst bastard in the world.
He projects his NEED to sacrifice himself on Sakura rather than The World. Is this better for him? One can think that this is better but.... hell, watch that ending and tell his putting a person above everything no matter what is a good choice.
