Tolkien's notes say at one point that Radagast gave up his mission because he became too interested in plants and animals, although elsewhere it's suggested that this was his mission. I'm not aware of any suggestion it was due to cowardice. He doesn't respond when Elrond calls for aid, but we're never told why not.
I've amended this to "not portrayed as any kind of fighter".
Pulled this:
- Wonder Woman is able to hold her own and even restrain Doomsday with her lasso in the Final Battle. In the comics Diana (Depending on the Writer) usually gets wrecked by the monster and needs Kryptonian help.
So far as I can tell, Wonder Woman has fought Doomsday in the comics exactly twice. (It turns out DC are rather sparing in the use of their Superman-killing monster for some reason.) In Doomed, she faces an enhanced Doomsday which infects her with a toxin and while she's arguably "wrecked" as a result, she still fights it to a standstill until Clark shows up and it retreats. In Path of Doom, she and Superman both save each other from the monster at different points (with one involving her successfully grabbing Doomsday's arm to stop it punching him) and Clark trusts her to keep Doomsday busy while he activates the Phantom Zone projector. Which she does.

"Radagast the Brown from the books was something of a coward and abandoned his mission because he couldn't gather the courage to face the Nazgûl head on."
What is the source for this statement?
