I think some clarification is in order to distinguish this from a PortalNetwork, since many of the listed examples could be listed there as well.
IMO the difference between a portal network and a warp whistle is that with the former, you can only travel from one teleporter to another, while the warp whistle can be used in any place of the majority of the game world.
For instance, the Diablo series has both a warp whistle (scroll of town portal) and a teleporter network (portal stones).
