I think part of the problem is that the Incarnae are central to their setting\'s mythology to begin with, and their setting was built by a company that absolutely \'\'loves\'\' {{Mythopoeia}}, so naturally they\'d embody some fairly significant and enduring tropes. I suspect we\'d get a similar result if we ascended the Greek, Chinese, Aztec, or Celtic pantheons.

(Also, regarding the Ebon Dragon/Melkor issue: Devil-figure wasn\'t quite what I was going for with the Ebon Dragon. More like an extraordinarily spiteful ShadowArchetype and nemesis to all things. Black Mirror Shintai was very strong in my mind while I was writing him up. So far as I know, no other deity quite fills that role, and I certainly wasn\'t intending him to compete with Melkor. Anyway, the Pantheon already has an Official Devil: the Anti-Monitor. Though in comparison to Melkor, he certainly hasn\'t done much to earn the position...)
