I don\\\'t see anything \\\"obvious\\\" about that assumption, nor do I see any indication (especially in the examples given for this movie) that Genre Savvy only applies when the character is savvy about the whole broad spectrum of the genre, and not just the single element they\\\'re commenting on at the time.
