^^A point of arguement against Ronald\'s remorse: during Jacob\'s loyalty mission you can find evidence that one of Ronald\'s allies felt actual guilt over what they were doing to the women. In response, Ronald used the mechs to murder him. Then, either because of paranoia or self-defense, he had the rest of his former allies killed too. Also, Taylor says, if not for the hunters, that when he ran out of regular food he would\'ve just eaten the toxic food and become like the rest of the crew. Ronald would\'ve condemned them all to that place, with no hope of rescue, just so he wouldn\'t have to pay for his crimes. Clearly his \

\\\"That\\\'s the point, though. A Complete Monster wouldn\\\'t be trying to endear himself at all. He wouldn\\\'t care what other people think about what he did because he enjoyed it (or at least was apathetic to it) and screw all the rest.\\\"

But Ronald wasn\\\'t born a sociopath. He WAS \\\"normal\\\" at some point. He knows what feelings and behaviors society expects of him in certain situations. He knows he SHOULD feel remorse for his actions, he knows people EXPECT him to feel remorse for his actions, so, in his mind, PRETENDING to feel remorse would be the best way to help himself. Being a CompleteMonster doesn\\\'t automatically mean you\\\'re StupidEvil. In fact, a few monsters manage to be smart enough to be on the border of MagnificentBastards (not that I\\\'m saying Ronald\\\'s a MagnificentBastard, obviously). It\\\'s just that, at the end of the day, CompleteMonsters will take whichever option that ensures their best interests. So if the choice for Ronald is either death or rescue, I imagine he\\\'d not be above faking remorse to save himself.

Also, seeing as Ronald WAS once a normal member of society, he IS capable of seeing his actions as wrong. But that just makes him so much worse in my opinion. If you were a CompleteMonster that was ObliviouslyEvil or had some dark, Darwinist or NietzscheWannabe worldview, at least your opinions on the world would be guiding your actions to an extent. Ronald, however, was a normal man with a family. He KNOWS what society expects of him. He KNOWS what he\\\'s doing is wrong. He KNOWS he shouldn\\\'t condemn his crew to a FateWorsethanDeath to satisfy his own hedonistic desires, but he does it anyway. He never stops because of his so-called \\\"remorse.\\\" He stops because continuing his actions are no longer an option.

EDIT: I swear to god Shaoken, I wrote this before I saw your post. For some reason, this is oddly hilarious to me.
