I\\\'m honestly a little disappointed in Tropers/{{Kilyle}} and Tropers/ArtisticPlatypus for saying they relate better to male characters. Tropers/{{Kilyle}} mentioned that \\\'girls are all \\\"Barbie\\\" and \\\"boys\\\" and girly stuff and I never got it\\\'. Do you think if a female character had less stereotypical interests (and not necessarily {{tomboy}}, but say, if she liked [[CuteBookworm books]] or [[WrenchWench mechanics]] and [[{{Asexual}} could care less about romance/boys]]) you\\\'d relate to her better? I just don\\\'t like the fact that the media treats girls as though they can only be a small number of things, and you\\\'re either a girly, pinky-poo mall-rat or a sporty tomboy, with little to nothing in between. I thought about it, and I think there\\\'s a chicken-and-egg conditioning of the public into thinking that one can \\\'\\\'only\\\'\\\' relate most to a character of their own gender/race/sexual orientation. True, I can \\\'\\\'somewhat\\\'\\\' see that last one, but what makes me different from a black guy (aside from skin tone)? Okay, so this character is different from me; we still have \\\'\\\'some\\\'\\\' things in common, right?
