Come to think of it, a better plot hole might be how the Marines\\\' radios and laser designator work without so much as a hickup within a hundred feat of the thing while it puts out several city blocks and even interferes with helicopters much farther away. I might be remembering it wrong but I don\\\'t think the dialog left open a pass for those things.
