I don’t think Flenser from “Zones of Thought” should really count as an example of this trope. His entry ends with, and I quote, “The book gives many glimpses into Flenser’s mind and about the only non-horrible thing there is his ability to enjoy the beauty of nature.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but in order for a character to qualify as a ‘Complete Monster,’ shouldn’t they be utterly devoid of redeeming qualities?
