So the claimed fact on the Spanish Inquisition seems a little bit dubious to me, does anyone have suggestions for updating it? I\\\'m not even sure when they mention \\\"Spanish Inquisition\\\" whether they are referring to the Governmental Inquisition attempting to remove \\\'undesirables\\\' from the country, headed by King Ferdinand I and Queen Isabella I, or the Catholic Church\\\'s Inquisition/Inquisitors, which enforced and investigated breaking of Catholic Church law (things the Catholic Church said) throughout the several countries the Catholic Church had influence over as seemingly an independent governing body from other countries. And even if they did move away from those witchcraft trials (a fact I don\\\'t really recall as relevant, since the targeting was based on heresy and torture for confessions- and usually when the Inquisitions in general were trying to find the truth, torture was not involved, and when the Inquisition-usually governmental- was trying to find a scapegoat or take down those who were too powerful, torture was involved - see the case of the Knights Templar for a case of torture to remove the banks of the day), I don\\\'t really know about the whole Spanish Inquisition being called \\\'fair for its day\\\' being that it was basically kind of a systematic execution or forced exiling of minorities (and if I remember correctly seizure of their property was involved as well.) Despite it being \\\'convert or die\\\' - the iconic forced conversion- within those who did convert, later on a good number of those recent converts or ethnic groups that had recently converted were exiled or executed based on suspicion the convert was practicing their religion in secret - (I\\\'m not certain from my memories reading whether using \\\'you\\\'re practicing in secret\\\' as a way to oust unwanted religious & ethnic minorities was also happening -during- the actual spanish inquisition proper but I think it was) from my perspective reading the text the entire thing appeared to be a flimsy excuse to get rid of undesirable minorities. (however the process of removal of said minorities was not necessarily just the scope of the Spanish Inquisition.)

In contrast, the Church\\\'s inquisitions, while not necessarily fair for its day, were simply extra laws people had to follow (obey the Catholic Church) and be punished accordingly for, there was no specific ambition- it makes sense it would be under this article, one could arguably call it Fair for Its Day.

Anyway. Any suggestions here on how to update this, whether this should be updated? Also I\\\'m aware that a) I haven\\\'t contested the point that they moved away from witchcraft trials and b) obviously, I\\\'m no scholar, historian or expert, I\\\'m just stating my view based on reading of a historian\\\'s account, some primary sources and memories of an old class I took forever ago. It\\\'s just a little weird that the spanish inquisition is listed under here, the point mentioned seems kind of irrelevant. Like, no, witchcraft wasn\\\'t really part of their propaganda machine to remove the minorities from the kingdom, but does that really make it fair for its day? I mean, it kind of sounds like we\\\'re saying -this one single aspect of a systematic execution and exile of religious & ethnic minorities, which was not relevant with how it was conducted or how it was used to execute and exile minorities from the kingdom, was fair for its day.- Has there been updated historical information on this changing our knowledge of the Spanish Inquisition as conducted by the Royals? Was the fact referring to the Catholic Church\\\'s Independent Inquisiton (separate from the Royal Spanish Inquisition conducted by Queen Isabella & King Ferdinand I ) and its behavior? (Am I entirely wrong in my interpretation?)

Thanks.
