I think this example sounds like IAmNotLeonardNimoy, and ought to be deleted from this page. Do you agree?

PeterSellers was an inversion, in that he WAS Spock. He didn\'t like people treating him as himself. When he appeared on \'\'TheMuppetShow\'\', the opening gag had him appear as his character [[ThePinkPanther Inspector Clouseau]]. Kermit even [[LampshadeHanging hung a lampshade on it]] by saying he could be himself when he was offstage. Peter said he didn\'t have a himself any more, he had it surgically removed. The lampshade is there in the first place because, when initially asked to do the short backstage segment -- a recurring bit that gave each guest star the chance to show off as themselves, free of schtick -- Sellers [[WordOfGod reportedly]] panicked and insisted that he \'\'couldn\'t\'\' be himself.
