I\'d like to bring up a crazy conclusion of mine for discussion: the Void Dragon won the Horus Heresy. Of all the major players in the galaxy, he is the only one to truly come out in a better position than he started. The Emperor is a quasi-corpse on a failing life support machine, His Imperial Truth is replaced with a religious dogma of ignorance so that none of them understand technology, save the Mechanicus, who unknowingly worship the Dragon and now possesses Adepts on all but the most primitive of Imperial worlds courtesy of the Great Crusade. The Chaos Gods failed to bring down the Imperium, Horus was destroyed leaving Abaddon, hardly Horus\' strategic equal, as the only being remotely capable of uniting the full forces of the Ruinous Powers. While the Dragon is sealed in the Noctis Labyrinth, the instructions to maintain his restraints are now lost, and anyone who knows about the Dragon are dead (Malcador, presumably), near-dead (Big E), or hierarchical nobodies(Dalia and Rho-Mu 31). And now in the 42nd millennium, the Imperium is so desperate to keep the Golden Throne running that they call on the Dark Eldar for tech support, while Rouboute Guilliman has become disillusioned with the Emperor. If Guilliman were to discover that the galaxy\'s greatest technological mind was sleeping on Mars and had at least some reason to cooperate with humanity (Mag\'ladroth would probably enjoy keeping the Astronomican working and the Emperor from pulling any Perpetual nonsense, plus he\'d command Titan Legions as a god), who\'s to say the two demigods wouldn\'t cooperate out of mutual benefit.
