The fact of the matter was, it was pretty clear what their relationship was meant to be (\\\"don\\\'t I mean enough to you\\\", \\\"if you go, don\\\'t expect me to be there when you get back\\\"). Furthermore, immediately the audience in the screening room picked up on the fact they were in a relationship. If the character was a woman, we wouldn\\\'t be having this conversation and it would be blatant. It feels like you\\\'re holding a gay couple to a different standard.
