Keep in mind the story is written by Sid Meier, who is well within his rights to declare that pacifists will mop the floor with trained soldiers in his little works of interactive fiction if he wants to. It\'s just a bad idea to think of soldiers as mindless automations who can\'t adapt to environmental changes on the battlefield in real life.
