I think her performance/public-speaking skills as a child were pretty good. But that's different from the acting ability she displayed as an adult, to convince Bellwether that she was genuinely afraid of the presumably savage Nick. But that may be based on my experience with TabletopGame/GURPS, which distinguishes between the skill of Acting (convincingly portraying something that isn't real) and the skill of Performance (entertaining others with a dramatic performance).
