I can\'t possibly see how this could apply. Setting aside the whole [[NoTrueScotsman \"real rock\"]] thing, whoever wrote that seems to fundamentally not understand DeaderThanDisco. It\'s not just \"something that isn\'t as common now.\" It\'s \"something that\'s pretty much gone and good riddance because claiming to like it now is embarrassing.\"

Rock could be gone from the airwaves completely and its popularity evaporated 100%, but if it\'s just forgotten then it doesn\'t apply. Its fanbase has to have turned into a hatedom. It\'s not enough for people to go \"Rock? Oh, yeah. Not a lot of that, I suppose.\" People have to go \"Rock? Oh, that sucks.\" Which just isn\'t the case.

Never mind that there are still plenty of stations playing classic rock or just older rock songs. Like it or not, they count as far as the perception of the genre goes. As long as people don\'t mind hearing rock on the radio, this shouldn\'t go here.

Consider the user who wrote this has been banned... I don\'t think we really need this discussion anymore.
