openSome kind of supernatural Batman-wannabe show? Live Action TV
I'm trying to remember the name of this show that had a domino-masked protagonist. Apparently, it involves demons or something. One episode that I can recall is about some girl in a Catholic convent has a magical macguffin that the bad guys (one of them being some kind of BDSM nun?) want and apparently were responsible for her parents' death. And she was half-demon too.
openLooking for this T.V. show episode
Wasn't there this episode in Braceface... - That had a pool at the start and end (Probably not part of the main plot) - Had these 2 enemy girls - Similar to Revenge of the Nerds in plot. - Comparable to The Mighty B! episode "Dragonflies" ? I'm sure it exists, i mean, i've talked to others and they remember it. I think there was one in Lizzie Mc Guire also. Anyone remember it?
openJapanese Talk/Variety Show Live Action TV
While I was in Japan there was a show that we caught a few times on the hotel TV (around maybe 9 pm JST?). I don't remember what channel it was on, but it was a talk show-ish program. The host was a 30-something-year-old average looking man who stood at the center of a half-circle shaped panel of guests. He would ask them questions/bring up topics and they would talk about them, and when someone said something funny or for some other reason, he take this big mallet (that I think had a monster face on it) and hit a button/poll with it (kind of like a whack-a-mole game). There were also skit segments that were more variety show-ish, two of which I remember clearly. There was one part where a man saw a shooting start and just started screaming "MONEY!" at it over and over. The other one had a girl confess her love to a guy, but the guy turns her down because he loves someone else. But since he's too shy/embarrassed to tell her, he asks the first girl to tell her that he loves her. The first girl talks to the second girl about it as if she was confessing her own crush.
openVery sad children's book about cat named Debbie.
A kids' book about a cat called Debbie who (gulp) dies, on Christmas, and her kitten Buster can fetch a ball. I don't like the book I just wanna know what it's called.
openTV Show of Guardian Angel + Devil helping a young human girl. Live Action TV
There was a TV Show I saw years ago about a girl—I believe she gets kidnapped?—and is saved by an Angel and Devil guardian duo. The Devil is a girl, she's hot-tempered and "sexy." The angel is a boy. I think they're brother and sister, but maybe not? They argued like siblings, though. I don't remember much about the show, but I believe the devil and angel were keeping a secret from the girl; or had a ulterior motive at first?
Occasionally, the human girl would call on her guardians for advice or help. Sometimes, they don't show up on time, or seem to make things worse? At one point, I remember her being in a car, and I can't remember if this was when she was kidnapped, or if she got in a car crash? Or maybe that was the scene when she first discovered the Angel and Devil?
Does this ring any bells for anybody? It's not 'Angel from Hell' and it's not 'Saving Grace'. Which seem to the be the only "angel and devil guardian" shows I can come across.
openunknown Live Action TV
What is the name of the show? Same premise as Supernatural. 1980s or 90s. Dark and humorless. Very similar plot patterns. Two brothers/cousins/friends. Might be Canadian.
openJoe Flaherty & Martin Short non-SCTV sketch Live Action TV
Back in the 90s Martin Short & Joe Flaherty had this hilarious sketch about a student that skipped a year's worth of class and does an absolutely stellar job of trying to BS his way through the exam. Both Martin Short (student) and Joe Flaherty (the Russian history professor) absolutely owned their characters. However, I can't remember what it was from. I never got into SCTV and never watched an episode, so that wasn't it. It may have been a SCTV special on TV, but we're going back at least 25 years ago now. I recorded it off the TV at the time and the poor quality tape recording, which was transferred to CD years later, which was transferred to digital years after that, survives, and I put it on Dropbox to help jog memories. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fbvoyccuxckahib/Russian%20History%20101.mp3?dl=0 . I'm mainly asking because I'm hoping to find a better quality recording. But at the very least, if none exists (and I have the only one! Yay!) I'd at least like to assuage my curiosity as to where it was from because it's been bugging me ever since I was trying to remember.
openStrange Christian radio shows Radio
I was trying to find a good station in a new city and discovered a weird Christian radio show. Usually it just plays music but there were two "story" episodes. One was about George Washington Carter. Two white people took him in when they found him in a barn, and he pretty much acted like a servant for them (making them breakfast, doing chores, etc.) and when the white people had to move, they left him at the house because they couldn't take him with them. It was pretty racist, with a white woman obviously doing the voice of young Carver. At one point they let him go to a "colored church". The other show was about a modern day family. The mother was talking to her kids about sacrifice, and how they should make sacrifices for God. The kids said they'd gladly sacrifice anything for God, and started talking meanly about a rich man in the neighborhood who didn't donate money to the local preacher for a mission trip or something. The rich man later offered to buy the kids' beloved dog, and the mom said they had to sell the dog and give the money to that preacher, since they promised to make sacrifices for God. The kids were really upset, so the rich man told the mother that he wanted to give their dog back, but the mom said they would have to do chores for the rich man to earn the dog back or else the sacrifice they had made was empty, or something. I was pretty horrified by that one. I am pretty sure both of them were part of certain series of radio broadcasts that this station would play. Anyone know the name of either series?
openhelp me find this movie i use to watch when I was little?
I'm looking for a show or movie about A brother and a sister who went up to the attic and met this puppet bunny a bat and a spider and the bunnies name was dust bunny. I don't remember much else its driving me crazy I remember the boy was older...the bunny showed them cartoon clips to tech them some lesson...that's all I can remember
Edited by KarrieLizopenCartoons in the Attic Film
I've been trying for a while to remember this dang show, but with no success. It was on VHS and had a brother and a sister that ventured up in to their (grandparents?) attic. Up there they discovered a talking stuffed animal (a rabbit I believe) that would show them cartoons (I remember one being the 1930s Jack Frost) and teach them life lessons. There were also sock puppets. A barbershop quartet and some female singing and dancing ones. I was born in '92 but my grandmother owned these so I'm not too sure what time they were actually released.
openLive action Paranormal High school show from the early 2000s Live Action TV
This show has been hard to find for me, because I think I was about five when I last saw it.
It aired on ABC (the Australian Broadcasting Corporation) in the mid to early 2000s. Chances are it was either Canadian or English, seeing as we get a lot of those kids shows in Oz, but leaning towards British, given how I remember the characters speaking but Canadian shouldn't be ruled out as an option. The setting was some high school and the main character (a white male) was cursed by a hunched over old wizard man with a symbol apparently burned into his forehead and he lived in the sky, I think. One episode I remember in particular consisted of the main character's best friend becoming a sidekick superhero character from his favourite comic book. The superhero from the comic was called "The Hole" or something. I remember this because there was a moment when he took off his helmet and he had a black hole for a face (seriously). Another episode consisted of the main character and another best friend character (this one was an (I'm guessing) African decent girl) fighting a yoghurt monster because the main dude left an unfinished tub in his locker or something. They suck it up with a vacuum cleaner in the end, I think. I can't quite remember how they defeated it, but it exploded everywhere, I know.
That's all I got. Hope you guys can solve this (I have faith in you lot), 'cause it's been nagging my brain forever.
Love and peace.
openOne Particular OOTS Strip Webcomic
This is probably the wrong place to ask, but I'm searching for this particular OOTS strip in which Durkula searches Durkon's memories for a happy memory shared with Belkar to convince him he's still Durkon, but gets an error message instead with things like 'did you mean: physical altercations with Belkar...'. I remember the content (ish) but not the name or approximate number and was wondering if any of you had a link or any idea of number? I'm asking because all the 'he's my friend/So was I' marketing for Civil War reminds me of this strip every time it comes up and I find it amusing. I tried to find it myself but looking at the archive didn't throw up any likely names in the right period (and the ones there were were not the right strip)
openCan't find cartoon about paranormal school? Western Animation
Hi, I've been trying for years to find a cartoon which I saw once as a child (late 90s or early 2000s). It either was cancelled after the pilot or a once-off as I never saw it again. It was set in a school which experienced some kind of paranormal activity and the protagonist was a new, teenage student (might have had blue hair). As far I remember, the other students considered the paranormal things normal. She makes two friends (a girl and boy?).
The only scene I remember was when the two girls go to the bathroom after experiencing something strange. The dialogue was something like: "I'm sweating after that." "Hey, can I borrow your deodorant?" "Isn't that kind of gross?" "It's okay, I'm only using it on my lip!"
The art style was somehow really unique. If someone has any idea, let me know as my searching yields no results! Thanks in advance!
resolved Fake College Commercial Web Original
I'm trying to find a short (less than three minutes) video that is a parody of college commercials. I'm guessing it was uploaded between 2006 - 2012. In the commercial, some teenagers (likely high school students) point out the "best" features of their college, like the substandard campus food, aged teacher population, lack of space in requirement classes, etc.
The one quote I can clearly remember is a student exclaiming over their campus aesthetic, claiming "All our buildings were constructed in the 1970's - an architectural dark age!!!"
I've tried searching You Tube for "fake college commercial" and "college commercial parody" and the like, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Any suggestions?
openSecret Chosen One
I'm not looking for a particular work, but any story where there is a chosen one, but his/her identity is secret to the characters and there are clues and red herrings to who might be the chosen one. Any help is appreciated.
openLove Mountain
Augh, I can't remember if this was a live action cartoon or show or animated or whatever. It was this story about two lovers (I think) who died and stuff and then they became mountains, or faces in the mountains. I can't remember what it was. Does anyone know?
openBook mentioning Babe Ruth Literature
I remember reading a book for school, but it was a while ago. I can only remember part of the title; it was "_____ and the Babe." From what I can recall, it was about an Asian girl moving to America in either elementary or middle school, and getting bullied by an older or bigger African American girl, and then later befriending her. One of them has a fixation with Babe Ruth, hence the title, and I'm not sure which but I think it was the older girl/ex-bully. I don't remember much of the plot, but I don't think it actually took place when Babe Ruth was alive or playing, and that he didn't make an appearance or anything.
openDoes anyone recognise this song? Music
I heard this song in a cinema bathroom a while back and can't find anything about it. The singer was female and the chorus was either 'stay up tonight' or 'stay young tonight'. It wasn't really fast but it wasn't really slow either. One of the verses involved a woman or girl acting like she was in a warm country when actually it wasn't. The melody sounded relatively upbeat but I'm not sure if the lyrics were because I only remember part of one line and the idea of one verse. This is all the information I have. I know I didn't dream this.
Edited by Slothgirl
I'm trying to recall the title of a book I read as a kid- the main character was a dragon called Flash (I am almost 100% certain, since he had a little sister who couldn't pronounce the L in his name) who, due to some accident or other, couldn't breathe fire like everyone else, but could only breathe cold air and frost instead. The characters were all dragons, in the broad "anthropomorphised animals" sense, no humans involved from what I can remember. I vaguely remember it being a "one mini-plot per chapter" book- one chapter would be about a sports day, another about a hiking trip, etc. I can't remember the title, author, or any other specific details, which is making looking it up really difficult! Anyone remember this book?
