openOld PC demos? Videogame
I remember playing a bunch of different game demos that were all piled together. It would let you play to a certain point and then immediately jump to the next game. They were 2D animation. I only remember a couple: an astronomer in a tower looking up at something, robot dogs in an arena located in a dark alley, and a more realistically drawn point and click one with a man and woman in a cottage. I would have played them between '95 and '05. Do any of these sound familiar?
Edited by SilenthunderopenA book about neo nazi werewolves Literature
I read in the early 90s. IIRC, the protagonist was a pastor who was kidnapped? by a group of neonazis because he also had some kind of biological/medical expertise. The original werewolf is thousands of years old, and was Barabbas at the Crucifixion (the guy who was let off instead of Jesus). He was cursed because he'd betrayed his god(s), so a werewolf bit him instead of killing him, and now he can't die until he bites someone who betrayed their faith as badly as he did. But he turns into a murderous wolfman under the full moon and can't stop it. So the nazi people get hold of him so they can inject his saliva into their people and take over the world with invulberable werewolf nazis, and need the protagonist's help with this. And he helps them, but the new werewolves aren't quite as badass. The original werewolf bites him, because he betrayed his faith by helping nazis, and then the two of them kill all the nazi werewolves and the original one dies. There's an epilogue where the protagonist is in jail on a distant planet, with a defence attorney asking why he killed all those people, and he says "This planet has 3 moons right, one of them is full every night?" "Yeah?" "Well, in a couple hours you'll find out, and until then you won't believe me."
openDragon, Princess(es), and wizards? Literature
Looking for what I think was a children's book. It featured two princesses, one of which who might have been turning to stone, a dragon that was described as having a voice like a bell, and the not-stoned princess had to go on an adventure to save the other despite being told not to because she is a princess. I think she ended up being the dragon's maid at some point as part of a bargain at some point? Also, it might have been a different book or the same, but I remember something about a wizard being able to see the laylines of energy that control magic- most wizards twisted these magic lines around their staves and he had to subtly redirect the leylines whenever another normal wizard came to visit?
openFamily comedy from my childhood, large family, southern Live Action TV
A show with a large family, southern, a girl wirh dark curly hair who sat in her window a lot. She had a crush on her neighbor. Her mom was single. There was a sort of spin off at one point, where the family moved...please, does anyone know the name of this show,
openLeonie? Live Action TV
I remember watching a show in the 90s where a female lion (Leonie?) was rescued by a professor, and he took her in and let her live with him. The lion was played by a person in a large costume, who walked on two legs rather than four. The professor was a white man, I believe with white hair. The little things I remember were the lion being perplexed by human life, and the professor teaching her the importance of sharing, healthy food, etc.
openA show that doesn't exist
I have a distinct memory of a TV Tropes page for some work of fiction that doesn't actually exist. The main character is some sort of psychoanalyst? Or there's a psychoanalyst/psychiatrist involved somehow. I don't remember whether it's just some sort of TV Tropes-centric thing, or if it exists within some other narrative. Anyone got something?
opena Disney musical
This is probably a really easy one, but search terms escape me - a stage musical, from no earlier than 2004. There seems to be a story in it about two couples, one young and one older, but it's not a story that's particularly easy to follow because it's told entirely through Disney songs from throughout the company's entire history.
openKid's show, possibly on YTV or Teletoon
Help!!! this is driving me crazy. I remember a show where the characters were all aliens but they had like human lives and went to school but it was futuristic and on another planet. I think the characters were blue possibly (think Pajama Sam style). I vividly remember one episode where there was a class trip to a park and the attraction at the park was all roped off and they had security, and the main character and his friend snuck off and found a wormhole and started throwing stuff in it. And then the main character went into the wormhole and got stuck and pretended to fake his death basically and everyone made a big deal and tried throwing a hose in to rescue them. In the end the main character was in trouble. Please help, I need to know what this show was called!!
EDIT: FOUND IT!! It was Loyd in Space!!
Edited by EmilyTCopenParanormal cartoon from the '90s
1990-2000s paranormal cartoon featuring 1girl, a boy in a Hawaiian shirt, and a 2nd boy. One episode had the girl possessed by a witch, the Hawaiian shirt boy explaining that witches are cool in modern times, and ending with the girl looking into the mirror and cackling. Colors and shapes of the characters were nonhuman, similar to the drawings of Ed, Edd and Eddie
openFantasy: rocks were magical Literature
So rocks gave different powers. Cats eyes have night vision (surprise surprise) others gave enhanced strength and stuff like that. Don't remember much of the plot, one of the side characters was an aspiring friar or something like that. Don't have much else sorry
openOlder TV Show Live Action TV
There was this tv show that featured an episode where there was a school bus crash and at the end, the mother of a little boy whom had died, held him in her arms and sang 'You Are My Sunshine.' My mom had watched the episode and I happened to remember just that part as I was likely playing or something. Still haunts me to this day and I think about it as being the saddest thing I'd ever seen. Odd that I want to find it, but it's driving me crazy. Any ideas? Had to have been a show in America between 1998-2005, I'd say.
openAn old anime Anime
Hi guys, could you please help me with this one? Twenty years ago I watched an episode of a strange anime: the protagonists were four mech pilots, two boys (one of them was a short boy with thick glasses and manned a fish-like mech) and two girls (one of them was a little girl that manned a scarab-like mech), and there was some race of humanoids that in Italian were called "Signori degli Abissi" -it means "lords of the abyss"- (in the episode that I saw they looked like featureless charred humanoids, which for some reasons turned to dust starting from their head). It had the graphics of Future Boy Conan. Thanks in advance!
openRunaway teens caught in the woods cabin - foreign movie Film
I saw only a trailer or a review of the movie. The main poster or image for that movie had 2 people under a tree in the woods under a big tree in some animal customs ? I'm not quit sure, maybe it was a different movie....
It was a foreign movie where 2 or a group of teens runaway from a foster group home. They end up in the woods in a cabin where and they are caught by the owners . Then they are locked underground ,but they escape. One girl ends-up in the hospital , but at the end she possibly runs away from a hospital.
It wasn't a horror movie, more like drama, hostage,,,probably Scandinavian .
Edited by mike732openOld but that Old Anime Anime
It is an anime where the first episode is like this guy and hey is jumping from somewhere down to fight or escape some bad guys or something, and a girl sees him bc she is in a plane that he passes on the way down, and the guy is the main character and the women is like a kinda main character but pretty side. Anyways, he is like a guy with a special power and he fights a bunch of guys in lab coats, so he is like a rebel. The main antagonist is his arch rival and he has a special power too (this guy semi-looks like Kiba from Yu Gi Oh). The MC has a "little sister" (orphan he found) that he really cares for, and she gets taken away by a super evil guy. Then she is revealed to have a power too, but unlike MC and antagonist her power is like a mental power. So they save her and then there is ending scene where she is suddenly like a young adult, but they other 2 guys (MC and rival (antagonist)) are still fighting, and she is casually using her power saying something like "wow things never change"
openReality Forensic Science show, Without a Crime Live Action TV
I'm trying to remember the name of a tv show I saw about 5 years ago (could have been repeats, but definitely made in the 2000's). It involved Forensic Scientists using (you guessed it) forensic science to locate people. The people were all alive, and the scientists were given things like their x-rays, trace from clothing, etc to identify the person and where they currently were. I remember one episode focused on a swimmer (who'd swum in the Amazon), and one was a distance runner or mountain climber. It's definitely not a show that involved any sort of crime, which seems to be the only things I can locate. I thought it was called something like the Forensic Files, but I may be completely off about that. Please help me to locate these forensic scientists who can locate anything!
openSome Old Linux Game Videogame
When I was a kid, I used to always play games on some old computer that ran Linux. I vaguely remember some kind of board-game-type thing that took place on a diagonal grid. I remember three characters from it: Tux, something named "Yam", and possibly the devil. If you know what I'm talking about, please respond.
openCartoon about grandpa who dies and comes to life?
So there's a teenage boy and his grandfather keeps supposedly dying in the hospital and then coming back to life (I remember a nurse saying "he has no pulse".) and then I remember vividly this line said by the boy.
- "Grandpa, why don't you let go into the light? The light is good! Grandpa...why don't you die?"
openFamily comedy about young man living with a family Live Action TV
My wife and I seem to (vaguely) remember this Family TV Comedy, about an "fish-out-of-water" young man (small, dark hair) living with a rich family (We are not sure if he was working for the Dad - or if he was tutoring the kids?) - funny how memory works. It was really funny and witty (but that is probably all tv comedies ;-)). We were confused and thought that either the character or creator's last name was Schwartz (we looked it up - not sure why we thought that - because we found no connection). Thanks!
I can't remember it name but the plot of the film is that a boy is given a diary and a revolver of his great great grandfather. The diary contain the story of his great great grandfather when he was a boy, together with his family they traveled to the wild west to search for a new life. The father is clueless about the brutal nature of the wild west. During their effort to make a home for themselves, they made friend with an old indian, a gunslinger whom the boy idolize. Together they defend their home from a group of outlaw that thinks they were prospector and tried to kill them for the gold they don't have.
