Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
It's more gratuitous than a sex scene in Sesame Street.
^ Sorry for not really contributing, but I couldn't help but think of Seth Mac Farlene's standard cutaway gags when I read that after a mention of Family Guy.
Holy run-on sentence Batman. Also, the way it's written is unclear as to whether it means that Bob's Burgers is disliked, or Simpson's and Family Guy is disliked.
Not to mention the weasel words "a fair amount of animation consumers", which is uncited and unverifiable the way it is written.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meCut it down to "Bob's Burgers gains most of its humor through quirky but realistic characters and situations." Everything else is irrelevant. Also the phrase "animation consumers" sounds so hilariously pretentious, and I say this as someone who does enjoy and appreciate all sorts of animated content.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
I came across this line on the Bob's Burgers page:
"Bob's Burgers gains most of its humor through quirky, yet realistic characters and situations, contrasting it from most modern episodes of The Simpsons and Family Guy, which have grown to become disliked by a fair amount of animation consumers, many on this website, for being overly reliant on vulgarity for their humor and for the characters in their family units behaving too mean-spiritedly towards one another to be believable as families."
This seems a little too long-winded and, frankly, a bit bashy as well. Thoughts?
