Your specific examples strike me as a particularly blunt Meaningful Name, maybe Numerical Theme Naming if you progress to "Secondopolis", "Thirdopolis". I'm sure I've seen this once or twice, but usually a developer will use a language other than English to make it seem not so obvious.
Noob Cave has a couple examples of very plain names for first levels. The example for Doom has "Hangar", "Entryway", and "The Docks". No potholes attached to those, though.

Is there a trope for when in a video game the first level has a generic name? For example the first level is just called "Beginning Village" or "Firstopolis"?
